On Tuesday, June 25, we will take you along the journey of spacecraft New Horizons to the outer regions of the solar system. In the summer of 2015, New Horizons flew by Pluto and its moons. Pluto was revealed as a stunning world with mountains, glaciers and an atmosphere. The spacecraft continued and reached an even more distant place on January 1 of this year. The spacecraft visited Ultima Thule, a previously unknown world in the Kuiper belt, the ring of pristine material surrounding the solar system disk. We will travel in the planetarium with New Horizons to Pluto and New Horizons, and have a look at the latest images of the mission.
The planetariumshow is from 20:00 - 21:00 at DOT, Vrydemalaan 2, Groningen. Tickets cost 6,00 per person. This show will be in *English*.
This event is organized by the University of Groningen (Kapteyn Astronomical Institute and CIT) in collaboration with DOT.
