2018 was a grand year for asteroid research: the space probes Hayabusa-II and OSIRIS-REx arrived at their asteroid targets, and Dawn finalized its close-up survey of dwarf planet Ceres. All three relayed breath-taking imagery along with surprising discoveries. Time to review the status of these missions so far, and for an outlook on 2019!
Dr. Michael "Migo" Mueller is a researcher at the Kapteyn Astronomical Institute of the Rijksuniversiteit Groningen and at SRON Groningen. He has been studying asteroids for the past
15 years.
